Protecting The Environment
To reduce carbon emissions and produce better air quality, Mancusi Builders only uses materials that are eco-friendly. What are eco-friendly products? Products that are not harmful to the environment.
These can be organic materials, such as
bamboo flooring, recycled materials or products that are manufactured in an environmentally controlled process.
Maintenance Free Quartz Countertops
Throughout the house we've used all natural maintenance free quartz countertops manufactured by
Cambria. Cambria is certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute under the GREENGUARD Standard for Low Emitting Materials, which means Cambria does not off-gas and contains zero formaldehyde or volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Eco-Friendly Cabinets
Our environmentally friendly cabinets are craft made cabinets constructed with low VOC glues and low VOC finishes. These cabinets use a water-based finish, not a lacquer finish that would give off gasses and VOC's over the years.
Eliminating Mold
The bathrooms in this environmentally friendly green home are built using dense board - a paperless drywall. Dense board looks similar to drywall but has a different finish, more of a fiberglass finish. Unlike tradition sheet rock, water can't harm dense board. And, most importantly for your health, mold and mildew can't grow on this paperless drywall.
Third-Party Certification
Everything that is in this home and every product that's been installed has been documented and will be third-party certified. As part of the Leed certification process, we've put together a book for the homeowner documenting all of the materials and products used and what their specific ratings are.
